Historic Galisteo
Morrow Bowden Architects
This residence was remodeled to
provide a second home in America
for an Austrian contemporary art
dealer and a painter. We approached
the historic remodel in a manner one
would approach repairing an old
Japanese tea pot; all repairs are
expressed. This allowed the home to
retain its historic status, and yet be
true to its contemporary life. Plasters
and a significant change in the existing fireplace shape fulfilled the client’s
desire to honor the simple past.
