Santa
Fe Railyards
In 1985, Suby Bowden and Phil Wallen of
the Trust for Public Land (TPL) initiated this master planning project with the Mayor of Santa Fe. Since 1985, Suby has continued her involvement as a team member with TPL, LURC, the AIA and Design Workshop, as an advisor to the City and SFRCC to implement the masterplans and the Railyard Park. She
has received an Old Santa Fe Association Award, and a Community Foundation Award
for significant civic contribution to the Santa
Fe Railyard Project and five consecutive years of AIA Awards for the Santa Fe Railyard work. On September 13-14, 2008, the Railyards had their citywide grande opening celebrating this $125 million dollar economic development project for the preservation of Santa Fe’s
local history and the celebration of its
future culture.
