CENTRAL AVENUE GRILL

Morrow Bowden Architects and Harris Builders transformed an abandoned department store into a Community Center to support the Main Street Program for Los Alamos.

The Master Plan for the building addressed facade development, and redesign of all structural, mechanical and electrical systems.

MoBo also designed all tenant improvements in the building.

Renovation of the 16,000 SF space included

the Central Avenue Grill,

a pharmacy,

a travel agency,

a beauty shop,

clothing stores,

and other small businesses.

In addition, MOBO conceived of an important

downtown concept of shared office spaces,

with a central receptionist, conference room and bathrooms.

This idea was successful and has continued to this day.

.

The building renovation

won the "Best Building Award,

from the New Mexico Main Street Program for 1995"
