BENNETT HOUSE

The Bennett Residence was designed for "First National Bank of Santa Fe" President Edder Bennett, who required a wheelchair for his very active life as a quadriplegic since the age of 18.

Edder was fundamenally involved in the team who wrote the first "American's with Disabilities Act" for the Untied States, and remained active his whole life in advancing the needs of wheelchair citizens.

This Santa Fe home was the first that Edder was able to completely design for his own personal needs, with staff assistance for all food prep, and daily needs.

The home was redesigned to have ramping throughout the property, fully accessible bathroom, lighting, TV's and computer desks were all designed to be accessed either vertically or horizontally by Edder. He was a man of great intellect and courage, who is missed greatly by all who knew him closley.
