Delta Faucet had a design competition in 1984 to conceive of new products for their industry.

Bob Gaylor and Suby Bowden conceived of, and submitted, the attached model and imagery for a European bowl sitting on a lovely pedestal, with foot pedals for cleanliness and public use.

We did not "win" the competition,

but the following year, just like the "100 monkeys theory" all the plumbing industry suddenly started producing the lovely bowl on a pedestal throughout  the European and American markets...

...ah well...
