DELTA FAUCET COMPETITION

In 1987, when Bob Gaylor and Suby Bowden submitted the attached model and images for a new sink design for Delta Faucets.... all sinks in America were being offered in styles that sat below the countertop.

The idea we submitted was based on European models where bowls (sitting on top of countertops)  were often used for sinks and washing.

Our proposal was to have foot pedals for faucet operations, similar to those used by dentists and doctors in the 1980's.

Just as the 100 monkeys idea (of the same concept popping up all over the world at the same time) ... manufacturers of American sinks suddenly were all pursuing bowls sitting on top of countertops...

we were just a couple of the 100 monkeys...
