SBA was one of three firms invited to participate in an interior design competition for the University of New Mexico’s Cancer Center. 

 

The rooms designed for the competition included the main entry lobby, reception area, conference room and an upstairs public space. 

 

The Architecture of the UNM Cancer Center was wisely designed by Rohde May Keller McNamara of Albuquerque,  in conjunction with VOA Associates from Chicago, and the Center's remarkable CEO Dr. Cheryl Willman.

 

The Architects for  the Center had wisely designed the entire facility to always have sunlight and views out into the landscape.

Therefore, central to the SBA design was a nature-based theme, including New Mexico landscape painters, photos and finishes all in healing natural colors to match Native American wildflower colors.

 

Additionally, when a client was interested in having their photo displayed, there would be a collection of black and white photographs of people to be honored throughout the center.
